Rosacea is a common inflammatory skin condition of the face characterized by symptoms of flushing, inflammatory lesions, vascular changes, and ocular involvement. The pathophysiology and clinical presentation varies, thus making treatment challenging. Naturopathic doctors employ a holistic approach to treatment by incorporating interplay between different body systems in the pathophysiology of disease. This course reviews the naturopathic medical approach to treating rosacea using an evidence-based perspective including oral and topical botanical and nutraceutical therapies.
