This session covers the area of cosmeceuticals for acne. Dr. Hilary Baldwin explores the evidence behind the use of cosmeceuticals in acne and for their applications for hyperpigmentation, redness, and sebum reduction.
LaToya is a passionate advocate for access to affordable, non-invasive healthcare. She is a third-year naturopathic medical student at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. LaToya brings over a decade of business experience to her naturopathic journey. Her background is in strategic leadership, software and infrastructure deployment, and project and portfolio management.
LaToya’s medical interests include integrative dermatology, oncology and chronic disease. Her goal is to decrease the disparities in life expectancy that exists among varied socio-economic levels by influencing systematic change that can positively impact social determinants of health. In her free time, you can find LaToya serving her community alongside her sorority sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she implements initiatives that focus on cultivating academic achievement towards post-secondary education, building economic literacy and empowering others to improve their health and wellness.
LaToya also strives to build community and support naturopathic medical students in her role as Vice President of Membership for the Naturopathic Medical Student Association. Hilary Baldwin is a board-certified dermatologist and medical director of the Acne Treatment & Research Center in Brooklyn, NY. She is a clinical associate professor of dermatologist at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center.Dr. Baldwin has interests in acne, rosacea, keloidal scarring, cosmeceuticals and the skin microbiome. She is a frequent national and international lecturer and visiting professor, and her work has been published extensively in dermatology journals.Dr. Baldwin served as a founding board member and second president of the American Acne and Rosacea Society.
InYoung Kim, MD, PhD is a board-certified dermatologist. Improving the lives of patients with dermatologic conditions through a holistic and evidenced-based approach is where her passion meets purpose. With a PhD in Immunology focusing on the gastrointestinal immune system, she believes that the gut plays an important role in health and disease, including skin health. She is particularly interested in the role of diet (including oral supplements) and other holistic approaches to dermatologic conditions -- especially chronic inflammatory disorders. She completed the one and only formal training program available in integrative dermatology for board-certified dermatologists (Integrative Dermatology Certificate Program through Learnskin).
