Kent Shih, MD is a medical oncology specialist, physician partner, and director of the high-risk skin service at Tennessee Oncology, PLLC, in Nashville, TN, where he treats patients with melanoma, complex skin cancers, and all adult malignancies.
He has substantial clinical and research experience. Dr. Shih has served as principal investigator or co-investigator of several completed and ongoing clinical trials. Since 2007, Dr. Shih has participated as a sub-investigator in 260 phase 1 trials and 350 phase 2 and 3 trials. He has authored or coauthored numerous publications and delivered many presentations at major national professional meetings. He has worked as a senior investigator in the drug development unit at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Nashville, TN, conducting research on multiple tumor types and disease stages. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
Dr. Shih received his medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. After completing his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, he undertook a fellowship in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
